  • For the Glaze:
  • 1.2 dl Hand-warm Milk
  • 30 g Melted Butter
  • 700 g Icing Sugar
  • Optional: Food coloring cocoa powder for chocolate glaze

Instructions

  • Step 1: Making the Donut Dough
  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, dry yeast, and salt.
  • Add the egg and hand-warm milk. Mix to form a dough.
  • Knead the dough for 3-4 minutes, then add the butter in the center. Knead for another 2 minutes.
  • Let the dough rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Knead again slightly, then divide into 12 pieces (35-40 g each).
  • Step 2: Shaping Your Donuts
  • Roll each dough piece into a smooth ball.
  • Press each piece flat and create a hole in the center.
  • Let shaped donuts rise for 30 more minutes.
  • Step 3: Frying the Donuts
  • Heat oil to 155-160°C (311-320°F).
  • Carefully drop donuts into oil and fry for 2-2.5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Fry the small dough balls separately for 2 minutes.
  • Step 4: Making the Glaze
  • Mix warm milk, melted butter, and icing sugar until smooth.
  • Divide glaze into bowls; add food coloring if desired.
  • For chocolate glaze, mix 3 tbsp cocoa powder with 2 tsp milk.
  • Step 5: Dipping the Donuts
  • Heat glaze in the microwave until hand-warm.
  • Dip cooled donuts into the glaze, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Decorate with chopped nuts or drizzle extra glaze on top.
  • Roll the small donut balls in sugar for extra sweetness.

Notes

  • Tip: Maintain proper oil temperature to prevent greasy or undercooked donuts.
  • Storage: Best eaten fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Variations: Try different toppings like sprinkles, crushed cookies, or a cinnamon-sugar coating!
